WHERE THE WATER LILIES GROW
Something called my name
Out where the water lilies grow
I wade into the water
The mud runs deep below
There is so much in the air out there
Thoughts grow shiny wings
My heart has been defeated
I feel the black flies sting
For my name, I listen
When the pond is brushed with snow
For my name, I listen
Where the water lilies grow
As the years have passed me by
My heart has grown so soft
I see the pond just like a child
With no armor on his heart
These moments run across me
When heaven's beaming through
I feel my heart beat in my chest
The ferns are breaking through
I am younger now
Than I ever was before
The things I knew when I was young
Return now that I'm old
I could have never seen it
Had my heart not frozen through
How the clouds move in the sky
The way the sun breaks through
For my name, I listen
When the pond is brushed with snow
For my name, I listen
Where the water lilies grow.
